Vocal Teacher

Ariane Bell Vila

Ariane has recently returned to Ottawa from her internship at Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand where she spent just over nine months. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice from Wilfrid Laurier University (2015) with a minor in English and Physics, as well as her Grade 8 RCM in both piano and voice.

Having started voice lessons at the age of 10 and piano even younger, she has been involved in numerous performance ensemble. She has performed with the Da Capo singers in the Luminato Festival (2015), the Laurier Singers, the Maureen Forrester Singers, the Holy Trinity R&B Band and Concert Band, as well as the OCSB ChildrenĄ¯s and Chamber choir.

She has participated in many voice competitions: Kiwanis, NATS, and ORMTA, placing second in her ORMTA category in 2012. She has also performed in various musical theatre productions as well as operas. Though her University degree focused primarily on classical voice, she enjoys both writing and performing pop and folk music while accompanying herself on piano, guitar, or ukulele.

Ariane has been teaching both voice and piano lessons to students of all ages since 2011, privately and at Maxwell's Music House in Waterloo. She has also been a private tutor in a variety of subjects since 2008 and so knows how to cater her lessons to each individual, allowing them the opportunity to learn and grow through the music they create. She is comfortable incorporating different genres of music into her lessons, from pop to musical theatre to classical and everything in between. She is eager to teach and share her love of music with others!
